Commission Structure

We take a commission for each item we sell for you.

Our commission is 50% of the final selling price, and remains the same for the duration of the consignment period.

The consignment period is 90 days for most items.

If an item is withdrawn from consignment by the owner prior to 90 days there is a flooring fee charge of 15% of the high contract price.

Some very large items at the lower end of our price range may be assessed a flooring fee based on a price-to-floor-space calculation.

Discounts

Our goal is to sell your item within the consignment period at the best price. Items in the store are discounted gradually over the 90 day consignment period. The degree of discount may vary depending on the price and size of the item. (Furniture that requires a large amount of floor space may be discounted more rapidly than a painting, for example.) The Seller and Foryu Furnishings will agree to a 'lowest price' under which the item will not be sold without verbal agreement from the Consigner.

Settlements

Consignment checks are mailed once a month. Checks under $50 will be held if a consigner still has items that have not sold. If your item is advertised on our Web Catalog, you can check in periodically to see if it has sold (if it disappears, it has sold).

Pickup/ Delivery

We will arrange for professional movers to transport your merchandise to and from the store if you request this service. For large items, the fee is typically around $85, depending on the number and size of items; this fee is deducted from the final settlement so there is no charge for pickup if your item doesn't sell.

Payments

We accept payment by phone or in person via all major credit cards. We accept checks with driver's licence for ID. We cannot accept returns or refund shipping charges.
