Consignment period

Most items at Foryu Furnishings sell during the first 4 weeks of consignment. Our standard consignment period is 8 weeks, however we can extend the consignment period for selected items.

Commission Structure

We take a commission for each item we sell.

Our commission is 50% of the final sales price during the standard 8 week consignment period. At the end of the consignment period, if the item has not sold, for selected items only, we may allow the consigner to leave the item at Foryu Furnishings. However, the comission structure, because of our increased costs, will change to 60% for Foryu Furnishings, 40% for the consignor.

If an item is withdrawn from consignment by the owner prior to 60 days there is a flooring fee charge of 15% of the high contract price.

Discounts

Our goal is to sell everything in our store within the consignment period at the best price. We try to maintain the original price for the first 6 weeks unless we determine, based on customer feedback, that the initial price was too high. Some items will be discounted by 15% to 30% from the initial selling price during the last 2 weeks of the 8 week consignment period.

Settlements

Consignment checks are mailed once a month (usually on the 10th). Checks under $30 will be held, but we can pay by cash if a consignor comes to the store. If your item is advertised on our Web Catalog, you can check in periodically to see if it has sold (if it disappears, it has sold).

Pickup/ Delivery

We will arrange for professional movers to transport your merchandise to and from the store if you request this service. For our professional two-men movers, the fee is $85/hour (the clock starts when they arrive at yor location and ends when they complete unloading your items at our shorwoom). For smaller, unfragile items, we can arrange an independ mover, and the fee is typically $40-60 depending on distance, size and number of items. The moving fee is deducted from the settlement or is due when you pick up any items that do not sell. We sell only high-quality merchandise and Foryu Furnishings will refuse to accept any item that arrives at the store in an unsellable condition (damaged, stained, pet or tobacco odor, etc.).

Payments/ Sales

We accept payment by phone or in person via all major credit cards and debit cards. We accept checks with driver's licence for ID.

All sales are final and we do not accept returns, exchanges or refunds. We price and sell our items in "as is" condition. We do not hold items for customers.
